Based on Being Orientation

By Being Orientation we literally mean: Orientation toward Being. Being Orientation is a contemporary path of enlightened living developed by Hans Knibbe, founder of the School of Being Orientation. It is inspired by Buddhism (Dzogchen) and rooted in modern psychology.

We focus on your free nature, that is already present, as the starting point of a path of self-actualization. The path integrates spiritual practice and psychological inquiry. Meditation is an essential part of the path, as is the exploration of (psychological) patterns that prevent you from living your true, free nature.

I am affiliated with the School of Being Orientation as a teacher in training. I offer meditation and individual guidance based on Being Orientation in Diemen and Amsterdam.

Meditation Courses

In my meditation courses you will explore and practice different forms of meditation —standing, moving, sitting, and using visualisations. These practices bring your mind and energy back home.

Our mind is usually moving toward something ‘better’ or ‘different’. As a result, our mind is busy and our energy is high. It is difficult to relax. In meditation we interrupt this habit of moving from ‘a-to-better’ and allow the natural spaciousness of the mind to appear.

When the mind settles, a deeper dimension of presence, what we call the Spirit, becomes noticeable. Qualities such as love, beauty, wellbeing, strength, and clarity naturally arise. You recognize the qualities of your free nature, which is always present. Visualizations help bringing the Spirit actively into focus.

About Me and about Being Orientation

My name is Eefje Leydesdorff. I first encountered Being Orientation in 2018 through the course ‘Healthy Self-Love’. Since then, I have been a student at the national institute, the School of Being Orientation. I am currently enrolled in the teacher training program.

Being Orientation is “a path of enlightened living,” developed by Hans Knibbe. It is rooted in Tibetan Buddhism and humanistic psychology. Its starting point is that you are already complete, already enlightened, already whole. With this understanding, you interrupt the habitual drive to always strive for “better,” which prevents you from living the richness of Being.

Meditation is a key part of the Being Orientation. Through meditation, you train to become the captain of your mind. You learn to bring your mind home to its ground — your true nature. There, you feel more at home than ever. Your tense energy relaxes. When you rest in the nature of your mind, qualities such as beauty, joy, love, clarity, and strength are naturally there. Living these qualities is a path of enlightened living.
